Detil Spesifik ABSTRACT Triana Puspitasari. 072120216. Taching Reading By Using Syllabary. The writing explores about teching reading using syllabary to elemantary school students. In this paper the writer collects literatines as secondary data. English departement, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo. Key word : Teaching, reading, syllabary Reading is one of language skills that should be mastered by students. By mastering reading, students can read English well. The writer thinks that reading is the most difficult skill among others. To teach reading skill there are the teacher should use appropriate method so that students do not consider reading as a difficult subject. In this paper, the writer explores about teaching reading using syllabary to elementary school students. In writing this paper the writer collects libertines as secondary data. The writer also takes some information in internet to complete the data in order to get more information. Based on the discussion there are 2 problems to be found. Firstly the teacher roles in the teaching reading by using syllabary and the teacher procedure about teaching reading by using syllabrary The roles of teacher are as controllers, organizer, resource, assessor, and observer. The teachers procedure in teaching reading using syllabary are pre teaching, in this stage the teacher makes the students interested in the topic. While teaching, the teacher elicits the topic, and post teaching the teacher gives conclusion of the lesson. The writer suggests the teacher of elementary school to stood syllabary in teaching Reading. The writer thinks that syllabary is easier to be under by students in process teaching reading if the students really understood the contents of the text, in the evaluation, actives, the teacher can make the most of assessment.
