Key words: Snakes and Ladders game, implementation, improve, students’ vocabulary Vocabulary is an important part of learning English. Due to the fact that vocabulary is one of language component and that no language exist without word. Snakes and Ladders game can be a creative media to teach vocabulary. Those are the media that implemented in SD N Bapangsari especially at the fifth grade. This research aims to describe the implementation of teaching vocabulary using Snakes and Ladders game and to describe the students’ respond on teaching vocabulary using Snakes and Ladders game. The subject of this research is the fifth grade students of SD N Bapangsari in the academic year of 20012/2013. There are 20 students. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative, the methods of collecting the data are observation, test, and interview. After analyzing the data, the researcher draws some conclusion. The first is about the implementation of Snakes and Ladders game to improve students’ vocabulary, there are three procedures in teaching vocabulary using Snakes and Ladders game: pre-activity. whilst activity, and post activity. The teacher had done her best to implement the game to improvethe students’ vocabulary in the English learning process. The second is how the students’ respond about Snakes and Ladders game. In teaching vocabulary using Snakes and Ladders game, the students are very interested, that there were good response from the students. The students became more active, happy, and enjoyed in the classroom and more enthusiastic in learning English. Finally, the researcher sugggests for English teacher to apply Snakes and Ladders game as media in teaching English, especially vocabulary
