Mastery of vocabulary is not an easy thing for students, especially for young learners. Because young learners have limited ability in learning and memorizing the vocabulary. It is not an easy task for teacher to teach vocabulary, because of the limitation of students’ ability. So, the teacher needs to apply appropriate technique in his classroom. Using pictures in teaching vocabulary are appropriate technique to be applied in class because pictures are one kind of media that can help the teacher. This research is pre experimental quantitative research. This research was conducted on 15th, 22nd, 29th November 2012. Because the researcher uses saturated sampling, the population and the sample is same. There are 29 students taken from one class at the fifth grade students of SD N Cangkrep Kidul. In this research, the independent variable is the use of 3D picture and the dependent variable is vocabulary test score. The researcher uses test as instrument to get the data. To test the hypothesis, the researcher uses t-test. The result of this research showed that the students’ vocabulary mastery on elementary school among the fifth grade students of SD N Cangkrep Kidul Purworejo in the academic year of 2012/2013 is very good. The result of the test from 29 students showed that the students’ vocabulary mastery is as follows: the mean score of pre test was 53.28 and the mean of post test was 80.68. To test whether the hypothesis was accepted or rejected, the t-value was used and consulted to the t-table at the 0.05 significance level. It shows that the t-table was 2.0484 and the t-value was 11.54 it means that t-value was higher than t-table (11.54>2.0484). So, it can be concluded that the use of 3D Picture as media for increasing vocabulary at the fifth grade students of SD N Cangkrep Kidul on the academic year 2012/2013 was effective.
